I was notified that my child has been chosen for a small group. What now?
First of all, welcome! I am so excited to work with you and your child.
If you have received a letter from me about a small group, that means that your child has been nominated by your child's teacher, other school staff, or myself. Small groups normally meet 2-3 times a week, and are always subject to change.
Currently the small groups I am meeting with are a "School is Fun!" group, and a "Social Skills" group. These will change with the end of the semester.

What can i expect from the small group?
No counseling is a guarantee thing. Each small group has its own set of goals, all with the priority of helping your student be the best they can be. There is an expectation of confidentiality in the groups, but I will share with parents the activities done in the group.
Suggestions!
Please feel free to reach out to me and suggest a small group theme! If you feel your child would benefit from some group work, let me know. Chances are other parents are thinking the same thing! I am in the process of creating an after school small group that Mrs. Caine had started last year, known as the Circle of Courage, for deployed families. Be on the lookout for that!
As always, please feel free to contact me with any comments, questions, or concerns.
